History of SITC Field
The SITC field is a symbol of the magnificence of the college and famous as the most beautiful event field in the country once upon a time. Many important events took place in this field such as local community gatherings during the state of emergency around 1948 to 1960, state level independence day celebrations, parades of uniformed forces such as the Federated Malay State Volunteer Force (FMSVF), Girl Scout Jamboree, Pandu Puteri and Red Crescent. This field area was also used as a landing place for helicopters that brought national leaders who visited SITC/MPSI. Around the 1950s to the 1970s, the school’s hockey and football teams were said to be the best teams among all schools and colleges in Malaysia. This field is also often used as the final match venue for the sports. The SITC Field is now included in the “Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) Historical Heritage Route”.
