Bilik Bachaan which consists of Bilik Khir and Bilik Dussek was the learning centre of Sultan Idris Training College for Malay Teachers (SITC). Following the name change to Maktab Perguruan Sultan Idris (MPSI) in 1957, a library building was constructed behind Bangunan Suluh Budiman called Khutub Khanah MPSI on the right side of the dining hall structure. As the number of students rises, the needs for a library and other resources increases. In, 1985, Khutub Khanah MPSI relocated to the dining hall of Datuk Abdul Razak School. When MPSI was promoted to Institut Perguruan Sultan Idris (IPSI) in 1987, the library was renamed IPSI Library. In 1994, it was renamed Za\u2019ba Library to commemorate the 75th anniversary of SITC\/MPSI\/IPSI. Za\u2019ba Library was moved back to Bangunan Suluh Budiman two years later. IPSI finally gained university status in 1997 and was renamed Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI).&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In 1999, the university had approved the construction of a new library building with 13,063 square meters of floor space. The five-storey library building at Sultan Abdul Jalil Shah campus was completed by the end of 2003 and inaugurated as Tuanku Bainun Library (PTB) by UPSI&#8217;s first Chancellor, Her Highness Tuanku Bainun on 8 August 2007. In 2019, a digital library facility was planned to be developed at the Sultan Azlan Shah campus. The library located in the Academic Complex building was formerly known as the Academic Complex Library, a regular traditional library before being upgraded into a digital library. UPSI Digital Library (UDL) was completed and open to the users a year later by the end of 2020.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-40caf7a e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"40caf7a\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-settings=\"{&quot;content_width&quot;:&quot;boxed&quot;}\" data-core-v316-plus=\"true\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-6c18662 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"6c18662\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Perpustakaan Tuanku Bainun bermula sebagai dua bilik di tingkat satu Bangunan Suluh Budiman yang dipanggil Bilek Bachaan. Bilik Bachaan yang terdiri daripada Bilik Khir dan Bilik Dussek merupakan pusat pembelajaran Maktab Latihan Perguruan Melayu Sultan Idris (SITC). Berikutan pertukaran nama kepada Maktab Perguruan Sultan Idris (MPSI) pada tahun 1957, sebuah bangunan perpustakaan telah dibina di belakang Bangunan Suluh Budiman yang dipanggil Khutub Khanah MPSI di sebelah kanan struktur dewan makan. Apabila bilangan pelajar meningkat, keperluan untuk perpustakaan dan sumber lain meningkat. Pada tahun 1985, Khutub Khanah MPSI telah berpindah ke dewan makan Sekolah Datuk Abdul Razak. Apabila MPSI dinaikkan pangkat ke Institut Perguruan Sultan Idris (IPSI) pada tahun 1987, perpustakaan tersebut telah ditukar nama kepada Perpustakaan IPSI. Pada tahun 1994, ia telah ditukar nama kepada Perpustakaan Za\u2019ba untuk memperingati ulang tahun ke-75 SITC\/MPSI\/IPSI. Perpustakaan Za\u2019ba telah dipindahkan semula ke Bangunan Suluh Budiman dua tahun kemudian. IPSI akhirnya mendapat status universiti pada 1997 dan dinamakan Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI).&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Pada tahun 1999, universiti telah meluluskan pembinaan bangunan perpustakaan baharu dengan keluasan lantai 13,063 meter persegi. Bangunan perpustakaan lima tingkat di kampus Sultan Abdul Jalil Shah telah siap pada penghujung tahun 2003 dan dirasmikan sebagai Perpustakaan Tuanku Bainun (PTB) oleh Canselor pertama UPSI, Duli Yang Maha Mulia Tuanku Bainun pada 8 Ogos 2007. Pada tahun 2019, kemudahan perpustakaan digital telah dirancang untuk dibangunkan di kampus Sultan Azlan Shah. Perpustakaan yang terletak di bangunan Kompleks Akademik itu dahulunya dikenali sebagai Perpustakaan Kompleks Akademik iaitu perpustakaan tradisional biasa sebelum dinaik taraf menjadi perpustakaan digital. UPSI Digital Library (UDL) telah siap dan dibuka kepada pengguna setahun kemudian pada penghujung tahun 2020.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div
