The Great Bell at that time will be hammered by using an iron hammer to produce a loud buzzing sound to indicate that it is time for student activities such as gardening, eating, classes starting and so on. In the 1970s the bell made from the railway was lost and replaced by an electric bell. As an effort to revive the tradition, this replica of the Great Bell was made by the UPSI in conjunction with the inauguration of the &#8220;Sirih Pulang Ke Gagang&#8221; program on October 19, 2002. The Great Bell is now included in the \u201cUniversiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) Historical Heritage Route&#8221;.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-38cde70 e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"38cde70\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-settings=\"{&quot;content_width&quot;:&quot;boxed&quot;}\" data-core-v316-plus=\"true\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-654ba0b elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"654ba0b\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Loceng Agung yang asal telah digunakan sejak SITC dibuka pada tahun 1922 sehingga tahun 1970-an. Loceng Agung ketika itu akan dipalu dengan menggunakan tukul besi untuk menghasilkan bunyi dengung yang kuat menandakan sudah tiba masanya aktiviti pelajar seperti berkebun, makan, kelas bermula dan sebagainya. Pada tahun 1970-an loceng yang diperbuat daripada kereta api telah hilang dan digantikan dengan loceng elektrik. Sebagai usaha menghidupkan tradisi, replika Loceng Agung ini telah dibuat oleh pihak UPSI sempena perasmian program &#8220;Sirih Pulang Ke Gagang&#8221; pada 19 Oktober 2002.
