Originally constructed as the training school for Sultan Idris Training College (SITC), it was later renamed Sekolah Kebangsaan Tanjong Malim (SKTM). The building, made primarily of wood, reflects architectural styles from the colonial British era. Initially used to train SITC students as part of their practical teaching experience. After their training, these students would be assigned to schools nationwide. In 1930 the school opened to served local children, including those of lecturers and residents, led by a Head Teacher named Cikgu Lembang. By 1989, SKTM was relocated to a modern building at Jalan Ketoyong, covering 8 hectares, while the original structure was preserved. The building now falls under UPSI\u2019s jurisdiction and stands as a heritage site reflecting the legacy of educational development in the region. The SKTM Building is included in the \u201cUniversiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) Historical Heritage Route&#8221;.<\/p><p>Nowadays, SKTM Building hosts the Institute of Malay Civilization (IPM). Institute of Malay Civilization (IPM) began operating on 1 December 2001 after being approved by the Senate on 11 June 2001. IPM is a research center on the fields of Malay civilization.\u00a0<span style=\"font-size: 18px; font-family: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-family ), Sans-serif; font-weight: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-weight ); background-color: transparent;\">In general, civilization is interpreted as a large field consisting of language, literature, culture and heritage. In fact, the concept of civilization is broader than the combination of these four areas. One thing that cannot be denied is that culture is a very important element of civilization. Since IPM is defined as an institution that focuses on Malay civilization, it will stand as a reference centre for faculty scholars at UPSI when they conduct research.<\/span><\/p><p>The establishment of this Institute, in addition to honoring Pendeta Za\u2019ba, can also emphasize the importance of the public\u2019s understanding, both scholars and ordinary people, about what is meant by Malay Civilization, the course of the Malay understanding which is the focus of studies and research, development sociology that occurs today, and efforts in the construction of morals, ethics and science.\u00a0<span style=\"font-size: 18px; font-family: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-family ), Sans-serif; font-weight: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-weight ); background-color: transparent;\">On 2 December 2021, referring to the University Management Committee Meeting (JKPU) No. 19 of 2021, the University has agreed to a new structure which is the National Education Museum (MPN) after the merger with the Institute of Malay Civilization (IPM) which takes effect on 1 January 2022. With the merger this, it can empower the field of Malay civilization through post-graduate studies, research, publishing, consulting and museums as well as become a global reference center in the field of Malay civilization and become a hub in organizing activities related to Malay civilization and museums.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-853c92a e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"853c92a\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-settings=\"{&quot;content_width&quot;:&quot;boxed&quot;}\" data-core-v316-plus=\"true\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-768b5d1 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"768b5d1\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Bangunan SKTM (Sekolah Kebangsaan Tanjong Malim) di UPSI mempunyai kepentingan sejarah yang kaya dengan perkembangan pendidikan di Malaysia. Pada asalnya dibina sebagai sekolah latihan untuk Sultan Idris Training College (SITC), ia kemudiannya dinamakan Sekolah Kebangsaan Tanjong Malim (SKTM). Bangunan itu, yang diperbuat terutamanya daripada kayu, mencerminkan gaya seni bina dari era penjajah British. Pada mulanya digunakan untuk melatih pelajar SITC sebagai sebahagian daripada pengalaman mengajar praktikal mereka. Selepas latihan mereka, pelajar ini akan ditugaskan ke sekolah di seluruh negara. Pada tahun 1930 sekolah ini dibuka untuk berkhidmat kepada anak-anak tempatan, termasuk pensyarah dan penduduk, yang diketuai oleh seorang Guru Besar bernama Cikgu Lembang. Menjelang 1989, SKTM telah dipindahkan ke bangunan moden di Jalan Ketoyong, seluas 8 hektar, manakala struktur asal dikekalkan. Bangunan itu kini terletak di bawah bidang kuasa UPSI dan berdiri sebagai tapak warisan yang mencerminkan legasi pembangunan pendidikan di rantau ini. Bangunan SKTM termasuk dalam \u201cLaluan Warisan Sejarah Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI)\u201d.<\/p><p>Kini, Bangunan SKTM menjadi pusat Institut Peradaban Melayu (IPM). Institut Peradaban Melayu (IPM) mula beroperasi pada 1 Disember 2001 setelah diluluskan oleh Senat pada 11 Jun 2001. IPM merupakan pusat penyelidikan dalam bidang ketamadunan Melayu. Secara umumnya, tamadun diertikan sebagai satu bidang besar yang terdiri daripada bahasa, sastera, budaya dan warisan. Malah, konsep tamadun adalah lebih luas daripada gabungan empat bidang ini. Satu perkara yang tidak dapat dinafikan ialah budaya merupakan unsur yang sangat penting dalam tamadun. Memandangkan IPM ditakrifkan sebagai sebuah institusi yang memfokuskan kepada tamadun Melayu, ia akan menjadi pusat rujukan para sarjana fakulti di UPSI apabila mereka menjalankan penyelidikan.<\/p><p>Penubuhan Institut ini selain untuk menghormati Pendeta Za&#8217;ba juga dapat menekankan kepentingan kefahaman masyarakat baik ulama mahupun rakyat biasa tentang apakah yang dimaksudkan dengan Tamadun Melayu, perjalanan fahaman Melayu yang menjadi tumpuan kajian dan penyelidikan, pembangunan sosiologi yang berlaku hari ini, dan usaha dalam pembinaan akhlak, etika dan sains. Pada 2 Disember 2021, merujuk kepada Mesyuarat Jawatankuasa Pengurusan Universiti (JKPU) Bilangan 19 Tahun 2021, Universiti telah bersetuju dengan struktur baharu iaitu Muzium Pendidikan Nasional (MPN) selepas penggabungan dengan Institut Peradaban Melayu (IPM) yang berkuat kuasa 1 Januari 2022. Dengan penggabungan ini, ia dapat memperkasakan bidang peradaban Melayu melalui pengajian lepasan ijazah, penyelidikan, penerbitan, perundingan dan muzium serta menjadi pusat rujukan global dalam bidang ketamadunan Melayu dan menjadi hab dalam penganjuran aktiviti berkaitan tamadun Melayu dan muzium.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div
